We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join us as the Head Chef at Midleton. As the Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in leading and inspiring a team of chefs to deliver exceptional food while ensuring consistency. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, proactive, and capable of driving the team to excel and exceed expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a team of chefs to maintain exceptional food quality and consistency.
• Create an environment that fosters employee morale, pride, and commitment in their work.
• Collaborate with the Executive Head Chef to execute the culinary strategy and meet operational standards.
• Maintain kitchen outlets, storage areas, and staff dining rooms in accordance with HACCP and legislative standards.
• Monitor and control stock levels and ordering to achieve food GPs and KPIs.
• Manage profit and loss elements to ensure financial targets are met.
• Train and mentor the chef team to promote their professional development and succession planning.
• Provide effective communication and feedback to colleagues.
• Collaborate in the recruitment and integration process by assessing candidates’ skills and competencies.
• Identify potential candidates for promotion within the brigade.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Head Chef.
• Culinary certificate or degree.
• HACCP level 3 or higher certification.
• Strong knowledge of menu planning and food presentation.
• Proficient in roster planning and all HACCP controls.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Thorough understanding of food safety, sanitation, storage, and kitchen maintenance.

This is a full-time position with a 4-day working week from Thursday to Sunday. The salary for this role is €50,000-€52,000 per year.
