Job Description:

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Restaurant Director to join our Michelin star restaurant located in Cork. As the Restaurant Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our establishment, while maintaining the highest standards of service, hospitality, and culinary excellence.

Our client’s a Michelin Star Restaurant is a prestigious culinary destination located within the exquisite in Cork. Renowned for its exceptional gastronomic experiences, it showcases the finest ingredients, innovative techniques, and artistic presentations, creating a truly memorable dining experience for discerning guests.

Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including front-of-house, back-of-house, and administrative functions.
  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance.

    Guest Experience:

  • Maintain the highest standards of service, ensuring guests receive a memorable and exceptional dining experience.
  • Develop and implement service standards, policies, and procedures to consistently deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Interact with guests, addressing their needs, resolving any concerns or issues, and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Continuously monitor and improve guest feedback, leveraging insights to enhance the overall dining experience.

    Operations Management:

  • Oversee the restaurant’s financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue management.
  • Develop and execute business strategies to drive profitability, increase sales, and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices, ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and controlling costs.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and refine menus, ensuring culinary excellence and alignment with guest preferences and industry trends.

    Staff Development and Training:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance employee skills, product knowledge, and service standards.
  • Encourage and support professional development opportunities for team members, promoting career advancement and job satisfaction.

    Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment for guests and staff.
  • Implement and enforce proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and rectify any potential safety hazards or violations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Director or in a similar senior management role within a Michelin star or fine dining restaurant.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving excellence.
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, and revenue optimization.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with a deep understanding of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, culinary trends, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with guests, staff, and suppliers.
